What is a Bernedoodle?
A Bernedoodle is a hybrid dog breed that results from crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog with a Poodle. Bernedoodles are known for their friendly and sociable nature, as well as their hypoallergenic and low-shedding coats which can be beneficial for individuals with allergies. Bernedoodles typically have a wavy or curly coat that requires regular grooming to prevent matting. See our currently available Bernedoodle puppies here.
What type of personality do Bernedoodles have?
Temperament: Bernedoodles are often described as intelligent, gentle, and affectionate dogs. They are known to be good with children and tend to get along well with other pets, making them a fantastic choice for families.
Activity Level: Bernedoodles are generally active dogs that require regular exercise and mental stimulation. If your family enjoys outdoor activities such as walks, hikes, or playing in the yard, a Bernedoodle can be a great companion for those activities.

Allergies: If any member of your family has allergies, Bernedoodles can be a great option due to their low-shedding coats. While no dog is completely hypoallergenic, Bernedoodles’ Poodle heritage often results in reduced allergenicity compared to some other breeds.
What is the difference between Bernedoodles and Goldendoodles?
Bernedoodles often have a more distinctive appearance than Goldendoodles with their tri-color coat, which typically includes black, white, and brown markings. Goldendoodles come in a variety of coat colors including shades of cream, gold, apricot, or red. Both Bernedoodles and Goldendoodles coat can range from wavy to curly, but Goldendoodle coats tend to be curlier while Bernedoodle coats tend to be straighter.
Bernedoodles tend to be slightly larger than Goldendoodles. They can range in size from miniature to standard, with our mini Bernedoodles being the most popular size. Our Goldendoodles also come in different sizes, from mini to standard, however they are generally slightly smaller than Bernedoodles.
Goldendoodles tend to have a slightly higher energy level compared to Bernedoodles. Both breeds enjoy physical activities, such as walks, playtime, and retrieving games but Bernedoodles tend to have a more moderate energy level once fully grown.
Both breeds are known to be social, easygoing, and enjoy being around people and other animals.
